The Lord's Supper

A sacred time of worship and remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ

A Time of Sacred Remembrance

The Lord's Supper is a worship time, a time to remember our Lord Jesus, His Person and His work. Our focus is on our Lord, not on exhortation or sharing other unrelated stories.

"For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, 'This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.' In the same way He took the cup also, after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.' For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes."

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Who May Participate

True believers in the Lord Jesus Christ
Not practicing moral wrongs
Not holding teachings contrary to Scripture
For Visitors

If you are a one-time visitor you may wish to observe only and simply let the bread and cup pass by. If you wish to participate, please be aware that it is a matter of sincere conscience before God. Self-judgment of any known sin is an essential element prior to partaking (1 Corinthians 11:28).

Worship Format

This time is open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, where believing men may take part in an orderly manner.

Participation may include:
Requesting a hymn
Leading in prayerful thanksgiving and praise
Reading appropriate Scripture with comment

Leadership: In the Church meetings, leadership is the responsibility of the men. The women, nonetheless, assuredly worship the Lord while singing or in silent meditation (1 Cor. 14:34) or prayer and praise from the heart.

Our Focus

In this time, we seek to meditate on and remember Jesus' Person and work, and in particular, His work at Calvary. This presupposes, of course, an assured personal relationship by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
